It really depends on where you live. Around here (Texas) it's $10 to $15 per hour, and more if there is more than one child. But if you're under 16 or don't have your own transportation, the rate may be lower. But I've heard that in some states the pay is much lower.

I charged about three dollars an hour per child when I was in high school. I could not get away with charging more because the daycares in my area charged roughly the same only they had playgrounds and people with all sorts of certification. The only thing I had going for me was I could babysit on short notice.
